Richie Palacios (2B, Mayaguez): 2-for-5, R, 2B, RBI, BB – The leadoff man for Mayaguez took advantage of the inherited runner rule when extra innings started as Palacios sparked a four-run bottom of the tenth with a leadoff RBI double to left. He came around to score on a two-out double and the next batter walked the game off with a homerun. A single in the bottom of the third and walk in the bottom of the seventh both came with two outs in his other productive at-bats of the game.

Eric Rodriguez (C, Carolina): 1-for-1 – Rodriguez entered as a defensive replacement in the sixth inning and made the most of his only plate appearance on the day. Rodriguez hit a line drive single to right field in the bottom of the seventh, but a forceout removed him from the basepaths.

Johnathan Rodriguez (LF, Carolina): 0-for-2, RBI – The 23-year-old outfielder drove in a run by putting the ball in play in the first inning, but was not credited with a hit after a fielding error. His at-bat in the third ended in a groundout and was removed before his next plate appearance.

Enyel De Los Santos (RHP, Licey): H (2), 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BBs, K – De Los Santos pitched a scoreless sixth inning for his second hold in the Dominican Winter League, but it was not without heavy breathing. He allowed two batters to reach on balls to lead off the frame, but a visit from the pitching coach helped to settle his nerves. A fielder’s choice, strikeout and groundout allowed the big league reliever to get out of the jam.

Dahan Batista (RHP, Barranquilla): 0.2 IP, H, ER, BB – A single and walk to start the fifth inning spoiled the outing for the 22-year-old Batista as two flyouts on the proceeding batters allowed the runners to advance and plated a run. The reliever was able to get a groundout to first to avoid further damage.
