Johnathan Rodriguez (Carolina, starting LF): 2-4, 2 R, 1 HR, 4 RBI, 2 K – J-Rod kicked off the Gigantes scoring with a three-run homer in the first and the Carolina nine never looked back.

Eric Rodriguez (Carolina, PH-backup C): 1-1, 1 R, 1 BB – The Gigantes’ blowout victory provided a rare opportunity for E-Rod to get playing time, which he took full advantage of by getting his first hit of the Clemente League campaign.

Gabriel Arias (Santurce, 3B): 0-4, 2 K – Arias, like many hitters in last night’s pitchers’ duel, struggled at the plate.

Richie Palacios (Mayaguez, DH): Palacios, who has made himself a fixture atop the Indios’ lineup, fared better only by way of a seventh-inning intentional walk…oh, and the whole “being on the winning team” thing.

Andres Gimenez (Lara, SS): 1-3, 2 R, 1 BB – The lone Guardian player to play in Venezuela last night acquitted himself well in a performance that extended his on-base streak to five games.
