GUARDIANS PROSPECTS

Hunter Stanley (Peoria, SP): W (2-2), 2 IP, perfect, 1 K – Stanley dominated in his last start of the year, hurling a pair of perfect frames to start a combined seven-inning one-hitter that came within two outs of perfection.

Angel Martinez (Peoria, DH): 1-4, 3 K – Martinez was not nearly as spectacular as Stanley in the Javelinas’ playoff-clinching regular season finale, but he did score their second run after singling in the first.

Gabriel Arias (Santurce, 3B): 0-3, 1 R, 1 BB, 3 K – Arias made it a season-opening two-game on-base streak despite going hitless on Thursday.

Johnathan Rodriguez (Carolina, LF-RF): 2-3, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K – Rodriguez’’s multi-hit effort included the lone Gigante RBI of the game on a game-tying single in the fourth (The go-ahead and ultimately game-winning run scored later in the inning on wild pitch.).

Jaison Chourio (Zulia, PR): no plate appearances – After getting his first career LVBP start on Wednesday, Chourio returned to his usual late-game role on Thursday night.

Alexfri Planez (Caracas – Game 1, PH-backup LF): 0-1, 1 K – Planez, who also saw limited playing time last night, struck out in his only plate appearance of the game.
