GUARDIANS PROSPECTS

Connor Kokx (Peoria, CF): 0-3, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 CS – After a second hitless game in less than a week (AFL playing time isn’t exactly an every day thing), it seems that the sheer length of his season is starting to catch up to Kokx.

David Fry (Peoria, 3B): 1-4 – Fry, who has started to see more time in the infield this fall, managed one of only three Javelina hits on a rough day for the Peoria nine.

Mason Hickman (Peoria, RP): 1 IP, 1 H, 1 R (earned), 2 BB – Hickman was also unable to escape the general ugliness of yesterday for the Javelinas.

Alexfri Planez (Caracas, CF): 0-3 – The first Guardian who’s game went final in the Caribbean fared little better.

Jaison Chourio (Zulia, PR-backup DH): no plate appearances – Glass half empty:  Chourio also went hitless.  Glass half full: that’s only because he didn’t come to the plate.

Trenton Brooks (Licey, LF):  0-3, 1 RBI, 2 K, 1 SF – The lone Guardian to play in LIDOM last night continued the offensive futility, but did drive in an insurance on a sac fly in the ninth in Licey’s combined no-hitter victory.

Brayan Rocchio (La Guaira, 2B): 0-3, 1 R, 2 BB – Despite also going hitless, Rocchio’s performance was arguably the best of a rough night for the org as he reached twice and scored.

In case anybody is interested, the composite hitting statline for the org was 1-16, 1 R, 1 RBI, 3 BB, 3 K, 1 SF, 1 CS, good for an .063/.222/.063 slash line. The silver lining? In the immortal words of the Monkees (who should really be in the Rock Hall), “tomorrow’s gonna be another day”.
