PLAYOFF HIGHLIGHTS

Joe Naranjo (Lake County, 1B): 2-3, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 SF – Naranjo was one of two Captains with a two-hit Game 2, continuing a strong championship series which has seen him post a pair of multi-hit games en route to a .571 average and 1.207 OPS in the biggest series of the season.

Connor Kokx (Lake County, LF): 2-4, 1 HBP – The MWL finals have been a similar story, for the Eastlake nine’s number two hitter, who reached base three times last night to bring his championship OPS 1.136. Yes, I j]know it’s a small sample size, but it;s indicative of  guy getting hot when it matters the most.

Tommy Mace (Lake County, SP): ND, 3.2 IP, 4 H, 1 R (earned), 1 BB, 6 K – While no Captains pitcher was consistently good start-to-finish last night, Mace’s first three frames before strugglin in the fourth inning were solid despite a pair of doubles.

Isaiah Greene (Lynchburg, CF): 1-4, 1 R, 1 HR, 1 RBI – Greene’s first postseason homer (and sixth overall) of his pro career would prove to be the Hillcats’ final blast of the season.

Jordan Brown (Lynchburg, LF): Brown would provide the final run of the Lynchburg club’s 2022 divisional championship campaign on the team;s other extra-baser hot of the night, a triple, later in the seventh.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES IN SUSPENDED GAME

Will Brennan (Columbus, DH): 1-5, 1 K – Brennan, who got at least one hit in each game of the last two series, extended his hitting streak to 13 games in the eighth inning on Tuesday night.

Bo Naylor (Columbus,. C): 1-3, 1 RBI, 1 BB,1 K – Naylor, unsurprisingly, came through in the clutch with an RBI single in the eighth to tie the game and ultimately send it to extra innings, where it will still be as you’re reading this if you’re doing so in the morning.

Oscar Mercado (Columbus, CF); 2-2, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 HBP, 1 E – Mercado has been easily the star of the game so far, reaching base all four times he has come to the plate including the Clip Show’s lone extra-base hit of the night:  an RBI double that drove in the team’s first run in the second.
