Wuilfredo Antunez (CF, ACL Guardians): 2-4, R, HR, RBI, CS – The 20 year old left handed hitting outfielder tried to go for the combo meal with a homer and a steal in the win, but was thrown out on the bases. Still, Antunez has two homers and four steals already this year in his eight game stateside debut. He didn’t play last year, so this is his first live action since 2019 when he was 17 years old. He also has 11 walks and just three strikeouts. He might be a little old for the level, but he’s missed a lot of time. Complex league stats are as meaningless as being butt-dialed by your ex, but that doesn’t mean you’re not curious, and Antunez is interesting so far.

Richard Polanco (DH, DSL Red): 2-5, 2B, 2 RBI, 2SB  –  Polanco picked up his first two steals of the 2022 season in this one.

Reyden Hidalgo (LF, DSL Blue): 1-6, 2B, 3 RBI, SB – This counts for three of Hidalgo’s four RBI so far this season.

Carlos Gutierrez (CF, DSL Blue): 2-3, 2B, 3 RBI – This is also by far Gutierrez’s best performance of 2022.

Samuel Parra (RF, DSL Blue): 2-2, 3R, 2B, 2BB, CS, OF assist – The 19 year old OF has an OPS over 1.000 this year, for as meaningless as complex league stats are, as we noted. He also threw out a runner on the bases, so quite the game for Parra.

David Leon (C, DSL Blue): 3-3, 2R, 2B, 3 RBI, 2BB – The 19 year old catcher now has five RBI in five games played so far in 2022.

Brayan Guedez (3B, DSL Red): 2-4, R, RBI, BB – The 17 year old has an OPS over .800 in his first eight games of his pro career.

Javier Tovar (SP, DSL Blue): 4IP, 2H, ER, 5K – Tovar has 16 strikeouts and two walks in 12.1 innings this season.

Gabriel Arias (3B, ACL Guardians): 0-2, BB – This was the third game Arias has played in Arizona rehabbing from a broken bone in his hand back in May. So far, he’s 1-7 with a double and this walk. He played the first two games at shortstop and played third for the first time in this one.

Notable Performances

Angel Genao (SS, ACL Guardians): 0-4, E – Not a performance to write home about for Genao. It was his first time this season he failed to reach base and he also was charged with an error.

Alonzo Richardson (SP, ACL Guardians): 5.1IP, 4H, 2ER, BB, 4K – It’s the 19 year old’s longest start in his 1 1/4 years of pro experience since signing as an undrafted free agent in 2020 out of high school.

Albert Brenton (RP, ACL Guardians): 2IP, 2K – Brenton allowed three runs in 0.2 IP in his 2022 debut, but since hasn’t allowed a run or a hit in four innings over his next three outings, striking out six in those four innings.

Yefri Rivera (LF, DSL Red): 2-4 – The 5’8 switch hitter has 13 hits in eight games this year.
