Highlights

Andrew Misiaszek (RP, Akron): 3.1 IP, H, 0 R, 0 BB, 7 K – Despite Akron’s tough game, Misiaszek was brilliant in relief. He came in with two on in the fourth, down two runs, and struck out his only batter faced that inning. He allowed a single in the fifth, but used a strike out and a double play to face the minimum. He struck out two in the sixth and three in the seventh before being removed for Tim Herrin.

Rodney Boone (SP, Lynchburg): 5 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 9 K – Boone had his second solid start in a row, striking out nine Mudcats in five innings. He made it through the first four scoreless, but allowed a walk and a triple to give up a run in the fifth that tied the game at one. He wasn’t involved in the decision, however, as he was pulled before the Cats took the lead in the sixth.

Jose Fermin (3B, Columbus): 3/4, 2 R, 2 RBI, 2 HR – Fermin tied the game in the top of the third with a solo home run to lead off the inning. He singled and moved up on a balk in the next inning, but was stranded. After a fly out in the seventh, he hit a second solo home run in the ninth to get the game within two runs, but it was too little too late for the Clip Show.

Best of the Rest

Brayan Rocchio (SS, Akron): 1/4 – As the Ducks were one hit yesterday, Rocchio deserves huge props for getting that hit. The hit was a two out, first inning single.

Ben Krauth (RP, Columbus): 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K – Krauth came into the game in a bad situation with the bases still loaded after Kevin Coulter walked in a run. He used a K and a double play to end the inning without further damage then struck out two more in the seventh before allowing a walk in what otherwise was a perfect outing with a high difficulty level.

Aaron Davenport (SP, Lake County): 4.2 IP, 0 ER, 3 H, 2 BB, 5 K – Davenport struck out three in the first to swerve around a single, then used three ground outs in the second to get around a walk. He allowed two more singles and hit a batter in the third, but managed to escape unscathed. He then went 1-2-3 in the fourth and struck out another in the fifth before he was removed after a walk.

Micael Ramirez (C, Lake County): 2/5, 2B, R – Ramirez reached first with a double in the fourth, then scored on Delgado’s double to follow. He then singled in the fifth, but was stranded.

Raynel Delgado (Lake County): 1/2, 2 R, 2B, 2 BB, HBP – Delgado knocked in the Captains’ first run in the fourth with a double. He then scored on a Gabriel Rodriguez single. He walked in the sixth, then moved up on a wild pitch, balk and wild pitch for a second run. He was hit by a pitch in the seventh and walked in the ninth to reach four times.
