NOTE: The Dominican Winter League (LIDOM) and Puerto Rican League (LBPRC) had scheduled off days on Monday.

COLOMBIAN LEAGUE (LPB)

GIGANTES DE BARRANQUILLA 4, VAQUEROS DE MONTERIA 1

Dayan Frias (Monteria, 2B): 0-4, 1 K – Frias, who has been spectacular this season in Colombia (.228/.353/.439 with eight extra-base hits [five doubles, two triples, and a homer], nine RBI, and a 10:11 K:BB ratio in 18 games), proved human on a rare rough day at the plate on Monday afternoon.

Daniel Aguilar (Barranquilla, CF): 0-4 – Aguilar also had a a rare bad day, ending a four-game hitting streak. Aguilar’s performance this winter, especially his power (four home runs and .230 ISO) seem to point towards a return to competitive baseball, likely in Lynchburg, after a summer spent training but not playing in Goodyear.

CAIMANES DE BARRANQUILLA 8, TIGRES DE CARTAGENA 7 (10 INNINGS)

Angel Contreras (Cartagena, starting 2B): 0-3, 2 K, 3 E – Contreras completed a rough day for the Guardians org in a performance that shows why starts such as these have been rare occurrences for him this season. His three errors (which resulted in as many unearned runs) represent half of the tally for the Tigres in a game they nearly won before losing on a walk-off grand slam by Caimanes C Jair Camargo in the tenth.
