Johnathan Rodriguez (Carolina, RF): 2-4, 1 K – Rodriguez was one of only two Gigantes to have a multi-hit Thursday in the Gigantes blowout loss.
Angel Lopez (RA12, DH): 0-3, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 HBP – Lopez went 0-for-3 for a second straight day, but reached twice and scored following a second-inning walk.
Oscar Gonzalez (Estrellas, PH-backup DH): 0-2 – Gonzalez grounded out as a pinch hitter in the seventh and grounded into a 6-4 fielder’s choice two innings later for the game’s penultimate out.
Angel Contreras (Cartagena, starting 2B): 0-1, 1 BB, 1 HBP – Contreras reached base twice before being replaced in the field to start the eighth. It is unlikely that he was pulled due to an injury related to the hit by pitch, as he played four innings in the field and popped out to second in his lone official at-bat of the game between the two incidents.
Daniel Aguilar (Barranquilla, LF): 1-4, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 BB – Aguilar is 5-for-13 (.385) with four runs, three extra-base hits (double and three homers – good for an 1.154 SLG), and a 1:3 K:BB ratio (.500 OBP and 1.654 OPS) over the course of an active four-game hitting streak.
