NOTE: A full slate was played in the Venezuelan League (LVBP) and a makeup game in the Dominican Winter League (LIDOM), but no current Indians* played in any of those games.

*The team was known as such as I typed this. Unless you are reading this extremely early Friday morning, this has probably changed by now.

PUERTO RICAN LEAGUE (LBPRC)

INDIOS DE MAYAGUEZ 4, GIGANTES DE CAROLINA 2

Johnathan Rodriguez (Carolina, RF): 0-2, 2 BB, 1 E – Rodriguez, whose .564 OPS has largely been propped up by two doubles out of his three total hits this season, added some plate discipline to that number as he tripled his season walk total in yesterday’s contest.

Gianpaul Gonzalez (starting 1B): 0-1, 1 BB,1 HBP – Gonzalez had an eventful day at the plate despite going hitless and being pinch hit for in the ninth.

COLOMBIAN LEAGUE (LPB)

VAQUEROS DE MONTERIA 7, CAIMANES DE BARRANQUILLA 6 (10 INNINGS)_

Harold Ramirez (Barranquilla, DH): 1-4 – Ramirez, who is yet to see the field in seven games so far this season, picked up a hit in possibly his last game before being removed from the Cleveland 40-man roster.

Dayan Frias (Monteria, 2B): 1-4, 1 RBI,, 2 K – Frias’ RBI single in the eighth tied the game and ultimately sent it to extras, where the Monteria nine would claim victory in the tenth.

GIGANTES DE BARRANQUILLA 6, TIGRES DE CARTAGENA 3

Angel Contreras (Cartagena, PH-backup SS): 0-2, 1 K – Contreras continues to see only occasional playing time in Colombia, mostly as a pinch hitter.

Daniel Aguilar (Barranquilla, LF): 0-4, 1 K – Aguilar is 2-for-14 (.143) to start the LPB season, but any competitive game action is good for him after spending the summer of 2021 working out in Goodyear while stashed on a DSL inactive list for 180-man roster reasons (for those unfamiliar with the 180-man, DSLers are exempt).
