NOTE: The Scottsdale Scorpions were off on Monday. as were all of the Caribbean leagues other than Colombia.

COLOMBIAN LEAGUE (LPB)

TIGRES DE CARTAGENA 5, GIGANTES DE BARRANQUILLA 4 (10 INNINGS)

Daniel Aguilar (Barranquilla, DH): 0-3, 2 K – Aguilar, who spent this past summer as one of the extra players in Goodyear stashed on the DSL inactive list for 180-man roster purposes (DSL players are 180-man roster-exempt), went hitless for the first time in three games this Colombian season.

VAQUEROS DE MONTERIA 10, CAIMANES DE BARRANQUILLA 0

Dayan Frias (Monteria, 2B): 0-3, 1 RBI, 2 E – For those asking, the RBI came on a sixth-inning 1-3-5 fielder’s choice. This was the first productive plate appearance for Frias, who is 0-fr-10 with a strikeout to start the LPB campaign.

Harold Ramirez (Barranquilla, DH): 0-4, 2 K – Ramirez’s rough evening made it a hitless trifecta for Indians on Monday. Harold is also struggling out of the gate in Colombia, going 1-for-9 in his first three games. Although, that one hit was a double. If he doesn’t stay on the 40-man roster after Friday, it will be interesting to see if his Colombian struggles play any role in other teams’ evaluation of him.
