NOTES: The Dominican Winter League (LIDOM) had a scheduled off day on Thursday. The Puerto Rican League (LBPRC) was in action, but no current Cleveland prospects played.

ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE (AFL) – SCOTTSDALE SCORPIONS

PEORIA JAVELINAS 4, SCORPIONS 0

Richie Palacios (LF): 0-3, 1 BB, 2 K – I’m eagerly awaiting (dreading, actually) the forthcoming tsunami of “Palacios is overrated” takes from people seeing Richie play for the first time during the Fall Stars Game and failing to take into account the fact that he will likely be headed into said game in the throes of a slump that has dropped his autumnal OPS below .900 (now at .869).

Aaron Pinto (RP): 1 IP, perfect, 2 K – Pinto just keeps getting better, this time hurling a perfect fourth frame that included a pair of punchouts.

Matt Turner (RP): L (0-1), 1.2 IP, 3 H, 3 R (2 earned), 2 BB, 3 K, 1 HR allowed – There’s really nothing more to say about Turner’s fall that hasn’t already been said. Hopefully, his adversity in Scottsdale in October and November pays dividends in Goodyear come March.

VENEZUELAN LEAGUE (LVBP)

LEONES DEL CARACAS 7, TIBURONES DE LA GUAIRA 1

Brayan Rocchio (La Guaira, SS): 1-4, 1 HBP – Even in one of his lesser performances, Rocchio still reached twice. Brayan’s slash line now stands at .442/.491/.692 with eight extra base hits (five doubles, a triple, and two homers) while posting an even 4:4 K:BB ratio. Note to MLB Pipeline, this is not a blurb about Bo Naylor playing in the Mexican Summer League (LMB). For those who missed it, MLB Pipeline tweeted about Rocchio’s hot start in Venezuela – and included a photo of Naylor and tagged the LMB instead of the LVBP.
