NOTE: Most of the Venezuelan League (LVBP), including the Tuburones de La Guaira (Brayan Rocchio) game, were rained out on Wednesday.

ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE (AFL) – SCOTTSDALE SCORPIONS

SALT RIVER RAFTERS 3, SCOTTSDALE SCORPIONS 2

Jose Tena (2B): 1-3, 1 R, 2 BB – Tena equaled his walk total from his first five games on Wednesday night as he continues to be a consistent offensive producer (.286/.385/.381 with six runs scored in as many games).

Tanner Tully (SP): L (0-2), 3.1 IP, 7 H, 3 R (all earned), 1 BB, 6 K, 1 HR allowed – Tully escaped a first-inning jam but couldn’t repeat that escape in the second. Hopefully, Tully’s solid third is a sign that he is adapting to the tougher lineups he’s facing in the AFL.

Damon Casetta-Stubbs (RP): 1.2 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 K – Casetta-Stubbs entered the game in the fourth after Tully’s pitch count caught up to him and got five outs with minimal trouble. Through four outings, Damon is one of two Scorpion hurlers yet to allow an earned run (Rays prospect Carlos Garcia is the other) and has allowed only four hits in 5.1 innings.

DOMINICAN SUMMER LEAGUE (LIDOM)

ESTRELLAS ORIENTALES 1, TOROS DEL ESTE 0

Oscar Gonzalez (Estrellas, DH): 1-3, 1 R, 1 3B – Gonzalez, who is due to enter minor league free agency this offseason, did wonders for his FA case on Opening Day, hitting the game’s only extra-base hit and scoring its only run.

Anthony Gose (Toros, RP): 0.1 IP, perfect – Gose closed out the seventh by getting Estrellas SS Jeison Guzman to fly out to right.
