Austin Aldeano (Red, SP): 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 7 K – Aldeano continued the great start to his career yesterday morning with a four inning shut out against Royals White. He did hit two batters in his first inning and allowed a single in the second, but otherwise didn’t allow a base runner. After using a double play to end the second, he struck out five of his last six batters faced to give him seven overall and 18 in 15 innings on the season. He is still yet to walk a batter this year and has allowed just two earned runs across four starts.
Junior Caminero (Red, 1B): 2/3, 4 RBI, HR – Caminero got the Indians Red off to a hot start with a two run homer in the first. He knocked in his third run of the game with a sacrifice fly in the fifth and his fourth with a single in the seventh.
Luis Durango (ACL Indians, DH): 2/4, 2B, 2 R, RBI, SB – Durango’s double in the first was the first hit for the ACL Indians and lead to their first run after he stole third and scored on a sac fly. He continued to add to the score with an RBI single in the second. He moved up to second on an error, then third on a wild pitch before scoring on another sac fly.
Skeiling Rodriguez (ACL Indians, RF): 1/4, 3 RBI, HR – With two on and two outs in the first, Rodriguez hit his fourth home run of the season to give the ACL Indians a 4-0 lead in the first.
Jose Pastrano (ACL Indians, 2B): 2/3, R, 2B, BB – Pastrano doubled to lead off the second, then scored on a Durango single. In the third, he moved a runner to third with a single, but neither scored. He walked in the sixth, but wasn’t able to score again.
Robert Lopez (Red, C): 3/5, 2B, R, SB – Lopez doubled to give Indians Red their first hit in the first inning, then scored on Caminero’s homer. He then added another hit with a single in the third and a third in the fifth. The last single advanced a runner who eventually scored on a sac fly. Lopez stole second after the sac fly.
Yefri Rivera (Red, 2B): 2/5, 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI – Rivera singled for the first time in the fifth to drive home Carlos Gutierrez, then scored himself on Caminero’s sac fly. He then knocked in his second run of the game with a double in the seventh. For the second time, he was knocked home by Caminero.
Fran Alduey (Red, SS): 2/5, 2B, 3B, R – Alduey’s first hit was a lead-off triple in the seventh and he scored on Rivera’s double. He then doubled in the eighth to advance Gutierrez to third, leading to an eventual run on a wild pitch.
Felix Polanco (Red, RP): 2 IP, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K – Polanco joined the game in relief in the top of the eighth up 6-1 and struck out two in a perfect inning. His second inning secured the win as he was perfect again, this time facing two pinch hitters.
Dahan Batista (Blue, RP): 3 IP, 2 H, 0 BB, 0 R, 3 K – Batista jumped into the game in the sixth with Blue already down 14-2 and immediately shut down the Royals Blue. He did allow a single to start the inning, but used a double play to face the minimum in his first inning. He allowed a two out double in his second inning, but kept things scoreless. In the eighth he was perfect, striking out two along the way.
Manuel Mejias (Blue, C): 2/3, 2B, RBI – Mejias knocked in the first run of the game for Indians Blue with a single in the first, the the lead didn’t last through the first inning. He added a second hit with a double in the fourth, but didn’t score.
