Scoreboard
Highlights
Steven Kwan (LF, Akron): 2-5, HR – The newest breakout prospect, Kwan hit his fifth homer of the year, which is nearly double his career total coming into the season (three).
Bo Naylor (DH, Akron): 1-4, HR, 4 RBI – Naylor capped off a 10 run inning, accounting for all of the RubberDucks runs in this one, with a grand slam in the eighth inning.
Skeiling Rodriguez (RF, ACL): 3-5, HR, 2 RBI – Three homers for the 20 year old outfielder name Skeiling.
Peyton Battenfield (SP, Akron): 6IP, 3H, ER, 6K – The newest member of the Cleveland organization struck out the first batter he faced in it and four of his six strikeouts were of the swinging variety. Not a bad way to make an impression.
Jose Devers (3B, ACL): 3-6, SB – A three hit day and a steal is a good day for the 18 year old.
Yu Chang (2B, Columbus): 3-5, 2B, HR, 3 RBI – We know Chang can hit Triple-A pitching. He homered off 25 year old reliever Andres Nunez.
Jorge Burgos (DH, ACL): 2-5, 2B – Burgos is up to .389 on the season now with no signs of slowing down.
Best of the rest
Daniel Johnson (LF, Columbus): 2-5, 3B, RBI – Like Chang, we know Johnson can hit Triple-A pitching too and is back to doing that now that he’s off the team’s taxi squad, not playing when they’re on the road, but not on the 26 man roster.
Nolan Jones (3B, Columbus): 2-3, 2B, 2BB – A solid night for Jones who hit his 22nd double and worked two more walks while not striking out. He saw nine pitches in the two walk at bats.
Gabriel Arias (SS, Columbus): 2-5, 2B – After a strong July, Arias is off to a good start in August. One area Arias has never really taken off on, is on the bases. Arias is an average to above average runner but this was just his fourth steal this year.
Jose Fermin (3B, Akron): 3-4 – Fermin’s average has dipped a bit as of late, possibly due to coming off an injury and the long season but he racked up the hits in this one.
Joe Naranjo (1B, Lake County): 2-4 – Two hard hit singles for Naranjo in Lake County’s loss and a hard hit lineout as well.
Joe Donovan (C, Lake County): 2-4, 3B – Donovan is hitting .347 since playing more after Bryan Lavastida’s promotion.
Hunter Gaddis (SP, Lake County): 6IP, 3H, 3R (2ER), 3BB, 7K – The walk, a passed ball and a balk overshadowed a solid outing for Gaddis.
Johnathan Rodriguez (RF, Lynchburg): 2-4 – Very quietly, JRod is hitting .299 on the year.
Hugo Villalobos (RP, Lynchburg): 3.2IP, 3BB, 2K – Villalobos didn’t miss many bats but didn’t allow a single hit.
Diego Navarro (SP, Blue): 4IP, 2H, 5K – Navarro has 16 walkless innings in his young career.
Elian Quezada (SP, Red): 4IP, H, 3K – Just one hit allowed for the 20 year old pitcher.
Luis Almonte (RP, Blue): 3IP, 3K – Three perfect innings but Almonte is 22 years old in DSL.
