In addition to the scheduled days off, Indians Red were affected by weather, ending two games in a tie to be made up later and having their final game of the last two weeks ended after five innings. While they did have one big win, they went 3-4 overall to fall to 8-9 and fifth place in the DSL North.

Player of the Week
OF Esteban Gonzalez: 7/15, 4 R, 3 2B, RBI, BB, 3 SB, 0 CS
Gonzalez has been one of team Red’s top offensive performers this season and added three two hit games over the last two weeks including a double in all three games. He was also active on the bases, stealing three of his four on the season without getting caught. He has played all three outfield positions and is yet to commit an error in 2021 (his entire career).
Who’s Hot
OF Simon Rodriguez: 6/20, 5 R, 4 RBI, 4 BB, SB
Rodriguez started the season off poorly, but hit his first two doubles on July 29th in a true breakout performance where he went 3/3 with a walk, two runs scored and three RBI. He added another double, RBI and walk on August 6th with nearly all his production over the last two weeks coming in these two games.
OF Maikol Flores: 7/16, 2 R, 2 RBI
Continuing with the trend of highlighting team Red outfielders, the next best hitter was Flores, although he didn’t provide any extra base power. He had three multi-hit games over the five games he played over the last two weeks.
Who’s Not
IF Emerson Purroy: 4/20, 3 BB, 5 K, 2 R, RBI
Versatile infielder Purroy has played at least two games at each infield position, but didn’t have multi hit game until yesterday. With three hits in two games in August, he could be turning things around, but at the moment he’s hitting .125/.265/.390 on the season with no extra base hits and twice as many strike outs as walks.
OF Ronald Pena: 1/18, 0 R, 0 XBH, 0 RBI, BB, 4 K
While Purroy may be turning things around, corner outfielder Pena is stuck in the dumps. He hit a triple and knocked in three in his second game of the year, but has just two hits over his last eight games.
