Highlights

George Valera (RF, Lake County): 1-3, HR, 2 BB – Three times reaching base for Valera who is following up a great June return with a solid July now.

Josh Wolf (SP, Lynchburg): 4IP, 2H, ER, 3BB, 6K – Wolf needed a good outing here, allowing 14 ER his last three starts. He’s still trying to fit into this organization and get his feet under him as a pro.

Yainer Diaz (C, Lynchburg): 2-3, 2B – Two more hits for Diaz who just keeps on hitting. I haven’t been high on the hit tool because of a quirky lower half/leg kick that I don’t think will translate, but he keeps making contact and stinging the ball.

Best of the rest

Alexfri Planez (CF, Lynchburg): 1-2, 2B – Planez has hit much better since his awful start. The line doesnt look amazing and his K/BB ratio still is troubling but he’s pick it up with the bat overall.

Quentin Holmes (CF, Lake County): 2-3 – Holmes had the second best offensive day for the Captains and an RBI.

Bryan Rocchio (SS, Lake County); 1-4, BB, SB – Solid day for ‘The Professor’ as hit bats progresses.

Bryan Lavastida (C, Lake County): 1-5, 2B – Lavastida keeps hitting even on a slow day.
