Highlights

Nolan Jones (3B, Columbus): 2-4, 2B, HR, 4 RBI, 2 R, K, SB – Jones had a two hit game on Sunday with a pair of extra-base hits. He lined a RBI double to center field in the 2nd inning and added a three-run home run to right center in the fifth inning. This was Jones’ first multi-hit game and home run since June 18th.

Will Benson (CF, Akron): 3-4, 1B, 2B, 3B, BB, R – Benson was a homer shy of the cycle in Sunday’s game with two extra-base hits. In his second three-hit game of the year, he tallied his seventh double and fifth triple of the season. Benson has eight hits in the Erie series at Canal Park.

Angel Martinez (2B, Lynchburg): 4-5, 2 1B, 2B HR, 2 RBI, 3 R, SB – Martinez earned his second four-hit game of the season (first since May 5th). The 19-year old reached base four times and scored three times, with the help of a double and home run.

Bryan Lavastida (C/DH, Lake County): 5-8, 4 1B, HR, 3 RBI, 3 R, SF – Lavastida finished Sunday’s doubleheader with four hits, three runs batted in and three runs scored. The backstop hit a solo home run in game one among three hits in the opener. In five games against Great Lakes, Lavastida totaled nine hits overall.

Roberto Perez (C, Columbus): 1-3, 1B, RBI, R – Perez got his second hit of his rehab assignment, a RBI single in the fifth inning.

Franmil Reyes (DH, Columbus): 2-3, 1B, HR, R, K – Reyes delivered a solo home run to left field in the second inning, his first home run of his rehab assignment. He now has four hits in four games in Columbus.

Andres Gimenez (2B, Columbus): 2-5, 1B, 2B, R, K, CS – Gimenez increased his hitting streak to six straight games with a team-high 11th multi-hit game.

Gabriel Arias (SS, Columbus): 3-4, 2 1B, 2B, 3 R – After his home run Saturday, Arias has a seven-game hitting streak with Sunday’s three-hit game. Arias has three games of three hits with the Clippers in 2021.

Matt Koch (RP, Columbus): 2 IP, 3 K – Koch bounced back from Wednesday’s rough relief outing with two scoreless innings on Sunday, striking out three batters.

Jordan Stephens (CP, Columbus): Sv, 1 IP, 1 H, 2 K – The right-hander earned his third save of the season and the second of the St. Paul series.

Oscar Gonzalez (DH, Akron): 2-5, 2 1B, RBI, K – Gonzalez has a 13-game hitting streak with two singles on Sunday, including a RBI single in the seventh inning. The outfielder has a .364/.398/.625 stat line in June (88 at-bats).

Marcos Gonzalez (3B, Akron): 2-4, 1B, HR, RBI, 2 R, K – Gonzalez notched his first two-hit game since May 19th, where he homered for the first time since May 16th.

Andruw Monasterio (2B, Akron): 2-5, 2 1B, SB, 2 K – With two hits, Monasterio has hits in 14 of 20 games this month.

Manuel Alvarez (RP, Akron): 2.1 IP, 1 BB, 2 K – Alvarez pitched a season-high two and one third innings on Sunday, fanning two batters.

Aaron Bracho (2B, Lake County): 3-8, 3 1B, RBI, R, BB, 2 K – Bracho had three hits after going 0-for in his last two games on Wednesday and Thursday.

Joe Naranjo (1B, Lake County): 2-7, 2B, HR, 3 RBI, R, HBP, 4 K – The first baseman had a two-run double and a solo home run in the opening game of the doubleheader before striking out three times in the nightcap. Naranjo has six doubles, three home runs and 21 RBI with a .246 average this season.

Austen Wade (RF, Lake County): 3-6, 2 1B, 2B, BB, R – Wade doubled for the first time since May 23rd, part of a two hit game one.

Will Brennan (CF, Lake County – Game 2): 2-4, 2 1B, BB, RBI, 2 R, K – Brennan shook off a 0-for-4 game on Saturday with two base knocks in the nightcap.

Jose Tena (3B, Lake County – Game 2): 3-4, 1B, 2 2B, 2 RBI, R, K – Tena doubled twice in the nightcap and drove in two runs for his first three-hit contest since June 6th where he doubled twice as well.

Cody Farhat (CF, Lynchburg): 2-5, 1B, HR, 3 RBI, R, K – After Cody’s ten-game hitting streak was snapped on Saturday, he started another one with two hits, including his first homer since June 17th.

Andres Melendez (DH, Lynchburg): 2-5, 2 1B, 2 R, 3 K – Melendez reached base four times on Saturday and followed it up with two singles and two runs scored.

Alexfri Planez (LF, Lynchburg): 2-4, 1B, HR, RBI, R, K – Planez hit his sixth home run of the year on Sunday, adding to his eighth multi-hit game of the month of June.

Jerson Ramirez (RP, Lynchburg): 2 IP, 4 K – Ramirez has struck out seven batters in the last two outings, spanning three innings.
