FORMER INDIANS

Paolo Espino (SP, Toros del Este) – 6.0 IP, 4 H, 2 R/ER, 0 BB, 2 SO – The righty took a tough loss on Monday. Espino had a rough stretch in the third inning where he allowed two runs in a span of three batters but overall put together a solid performance. It’s unfortunate he didn’t receive any run support from his team.

Ronny Rodriguez (SS, Aguilas Cibaenas) – 1-4, 1 RBI – Rodriguez is slowly but surely starting to come around at the plate. Ronny-Rod helped bring home a run in the eighth inning on a RBI-groundout to short.

Robel Garcia (2B, Aguilas Cibaenas) – 1-4, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 SO – The second baseman came up with a big hit on Monday. Garcia helped provide some insurance runs to the lead as he slapped an RBI-single to left field.

Gigantes del Cibao 5, Tigres del Licey 8

FORMER INDIANS

Jairo Asencio (RP, Tigres del Licey) – 1.0 IP, 1 SV, 1 H, 0 R/ER, 0 BB, 2 SO – The righty got the call for the save in Monday’s game. Asencio let the first batter reach base on a single to second base but locked it down as he struck out the final two batters of the inning.
