Jeremy Sowers quick ascent from 2004 draft pick to nearly big league ready was at fever pitch at this point. He started the year in Kinston and was in Buffalo by the end.

Only July 3 he got the holiday in Akron started on a good note. He shut down the Binghamton Mets through 6.2 innings with eight strikeouts. He allowed just a walk and a hit.

Mariano Gomez finished off the job with 2.1 innings of scoreless ball.

Jonathan Van Every two run homer in the seventh provided all the runs the Aeros and Sowers needed for the 2-0 win.
