Cleveland has generally seen many of the teams in the Carolina League have a lot of success from Kinston to Carolina and now Lynchburg.

In 2012, the Mudcats weren’t having a great year despite what ended up being a pretty successful regular lineup of future major leaguer’s, even if they weren’t big names.

On this day, Jesus Aguilar led the bunch with two homers and four RBI to prove that his 2011 breakout in Lake County was no fluke. Too bad the Indians never saw it that way.

Aguilar hit a two run homer in the fourth and a two run homer in the seventh. He also added a double.

Future MLB players Gio Urshela and Carlos Moncrief (he did have a brief stint with the Giants) each added two hits.

Strongsville native and Kent State product Anthony Gallas added a pair of RBI.

The lineup also featured future MLB players Tyler Holt, Tony Wolters, and Ronny Rodriguez.

On the pitching side of things, Francisco Jimenez and JD Reichenbach didn’t make it much further in baseball but Jimenez earned the win behind the big offensive day from Aguilar.
